NDA/NA Cut-off Marks
Cut-off marks are the minimum qualifying marks needed at the written stage and the marks achieved by the last candidate in the merit order at the final stage of the examination. Initially, they represent the minimum score necessary to pass the written stage of the exam. Subsequently, they indicate the marks obtained by the last candidate who makes it onto the final merit list. Therefore, while the cut-off serves as a threshold for passing the written exam, it also reflects the competitiveness of the selection process by showing the scores of candidates who succeed through to the final stages.
Firstly, the minimum qualifying standard refers to the baseline score that candidates must achieve in the written stage to advance to the subsequent stages of the examination. Subsequently, the marks secured by the last candidate in the merit order at the final stage represent the threshold score needed to secure a position in the final list of successful candidates. Thus, cut-off marks serve as crucial benchmarks for determining eligibility and final selection.
